Three IP's started a massive parallell data extraction from thredds.met.no at approx 2021-09-10 11:05UTC, causing overload on our machines. As the load was distributed to reserve machines our service detoriated until approx 23:00UTC after which the majority of users were unable to get contact with thredds.met.no. After manual intervention, service was restored from 06:30 UTC. The offending IPS, 18.200.128.164, 52.208.189.31 and 54.229.241.20 have now been blocked from accessing thredds.met.no. Please note that 'priority' (aka SLA) customers were not affected by this outage, only the public service was affected.
